Medical Device CDMO M&A: KKR Sells Minnesota Rubber and Plastics (~10x Synergy-Adjusted EBITDA)

Trelleborg Group, a global leader in engineered polymer solutions, has acquired Minnesota Rubber and Plastics (MRP) for $950 million on a cash and debt-free basis from investment firm KKR. With approximately $220 million in LTM revenue, the deal implies a multiple of 4.3x revenue. MRP is a leading US-based manufacturer of custom elastomeric and thermoplastic components. The company has a strong track record of innovation and growth, and it serves a wide range of customers in the medical device, automotive, aerospace, and other industries.

According to reporting from Private Equity Professional, the deal implies a multiple of approximately 10x EBITDA including future synergies. The synergy-adjusted EBITDA figure is not directly comparable to the majority of deals in the Scope database, so what looks like a lower-end multiple may actually be closer to or above the median for medical device CDMO and components deals.
